Administrative Information Services - Data Administration

Service Offering Summary

The Client Based Computing section of Data Administration was created to assist MSU faculty and staff with Administrative Information Services mainframe and other End User computing needs. We offer Client Based Computing environment Training, VISION:Results Training, one-on-one help with questions or problems encountered while using Administrative Information Services computer resources, and conversion of client written programs to production jobs (macros). Our hours are Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 5:00 p.m. except Michigan State University Holidays. We can also be available to assist with special production runs or client programming at other hours upon prior arrangement. Call the Administrative Information Services Help & Support Center to inquire about assistance for special needs at 353-4420 ext. 311.

MSUDATA

A secure database of student and other information that can be used in Ad-Hoc Queries using tools such as MS Access on your PC.

VISION:Results

An information Management and report generation tool intended for programmers and non-programmers which uses an English-like programming language. The Letter-Writer function can produce multiple letters with variable input such as names and addresses.

VISION:Excel

A statistical tool for Aging Analysis, Frequency Distribution, Random Sampling, Linear Regression, Trend Line Analysis, and Scatter Diagrams.

SAS

A Statistical Analysis Language for Programmers.
